Through both its product offering and carefully curated environments, the prestigious international brand Beefbar conveys a strong sense of quality and understated luxury. When plans were drawn up for the brand’s second outlet in Malta, located within the 5-star Phoenicia Malta Hotel, SAW was entrusted with delivering the joinery and furniture works for this refined fine-dining destination.
Having previously collaborated on the first Beefbar to open in Malta, SAW was already well acquainted with the brand’s exacting standards and distinctive design language. Rather than replicating the original concept, however, the brief called for the development of fresh, bespoke furniture pieces, allowing this outlet to establish its own identity while remaining aligned with Beefbar’s global aesthetic.
The project was delivered within an exceptionally tight programme, with the full scope completed in just six weeks from the initial client engagement. SAW’s works included fitted joinery, wall panelling, and a comprehensive range of loose furniture elements such as chairs, banquettes, curtains, and tables, all carefully coordinated to support both functionality and visual cohesion.
A rich and tactile material palette was used throughout the space, incorporating oak veneer, brass, marble, and fabric finishes to reinforce the venue’s refined character. In addition, SAW sourced custom-made light fittings through one of its trusted supply-chain partners based in Venice, ensuring that every detail contributed to a cohesive, high-end dining experience consistent with Beefbar’s international reputation.
